Per scrivere la storia di questo locale dovremmo riuscire ad incontrare tutte le persone che lo hanno frequentato, o una buona parte di queste. Sicuramente ognuna di loro avrebbe un pezzo di storia custodito nello scrigno dei propri ricordi.

Memorie di momenti indimenticabili, ma soprattutto di una parte di storia che ha contribuito a far rinascere il nostro Paese.
Erano gli anni '60 ed il nostro locale, con fierezza rappresentava il punto d'incontro della Roma "by night", della "dolce vita", il luogo dove nacquero amori tumultuosi, dove si firmarono accordi mai rivelati, dove tutto era familiare ... questo era l'Harry's Bar.
Nel cuore di chi ha frequentato non è mai morto, nonostante gli anni difficili.
Harry's Bar Roma nasce nel 1959, prenderà il nome solo nel 1962 ma il locale già esisteva dal 1918. Era la pasticceria Golden Gate citata anche in numerosi libri. Alla fine degli anni 20 entrò a far parte della famiglia De Gasperis sino al 1958 appunto anno in cui divenne American Bar Ristorante.
Oggi il locale risplende nella sua Boisseire e nei sui stucchi di oltre 35 anni rimessi da poco a lucido, la stessa atmosfera che si respirava in quegli anni.
Chi non conosce Harry's Bar Roma ora ha un buon motivo per visitarlo.

The History

In order to write the story of this café we should get to meet every person who has gone to it, or most of them. Certainly each one of them would have a bit of story kept in the casket of their memories.
Memories of unforgettable moment, but above all of a bit of history which has helped our Country to be born again.
It was the Sixties and our bar proudly represented the meeting place of the
" By nigth " Rome, of the " Dolce vita " (Sweet life), the place where riotous loves were born, where never revealed agreements were signed, were everything was familiar ... this was Harry's Bar.
In the hearts of the ones who patronenized it, it never died, despite the hard times.
Harry's Bar Rome was born in 1959, took its name only in 1962 but the café existed since 1918. It was the Golden Gate Confectioner's, quoted in many books. At the end of the Twenties it became part of the De Gasperis' family until 1958, the very year it cake to be American Bar Restaurant.
Today the cafè shines in its Boisseirie, and in its plasters, more then 35 years old, of late renovated, the same feel you got in those years.
He who doesn't know Harry's Bar Rome, has now good reason to go and see it.
